Historical Highlights from the 1990s
1991 - Released "Sings America" recording
featuring a 50 year chronology of American popular music as well as
western ballads and patriotic
selections.
1991 - Performed at the White House for President and Mrs. Bush at the
Christmas Pageant of Peace, Christmas tree lighting.
1992 - Featured performers at the Music Educators National Conference
in New Orleans.
1993 - Pacific Tour ’93 with performances
in Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii with a special appearance in the
Sydney Opera House.
1994 - Release of "Holiday Treasures" a
collection of holiday songs including Christmas and Hanukkah selections.
1996 - European Tour ’96 with performances in Spain, France, and
Italy including an appearance at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
1996 - Received the Governor’s Arts Award for Arts in Education
acknowledging the Chorus’ long term artistic excellence as well
as aggressive community outreach program.
1996 - Participated in the 70th Anniversary Macy*s Thanksgiving Day
Parade as invited guests.
1997 - Release of
"Heaven Hath A Song," a sacred and classical recording produced by Sanctus
Records.
1998 - Performance in the Tabernacle of Salt Lake City with the Mormon
Tabernacle Choir that was broadcast to a worldwide television and radio
audience.
1998 - Premiered a
major symphonic choral work with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Songs
of Meditation by composer Stephen Paulus commissioned
by the TSO and written specifically for the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus.
1999 - Release of
recording "Inspiration," a collection of contemporary songs of enlightenment.
