Boys Chorus to tour South Korea, Japan and Hawaii in 2010
As you are aware, TABC will be celebrating its historic 70th Anniversary next season. TABC has received a prestigious invitation to
once again represent the United States in the World Vision International Children’s Choir Festival in Korea.
This is entirely an unexpected opportunity as it is quite rare for the event organizers to repeat choirs in successive festivals.
As you may recall, TABC was a participating choir in the World Vision Festival in 2007. We can be very proud that we were
again selected out of hundreds of possible US choirs. The festival is the third week of July 2010 in Seoul and other surrounding
cities. This trip to Korea will be important in maintaining our international identity in the choral world as well as a thrill for the boys.
In addition to Korea, TABC will also travel to Japan and Hawaii.
Other exciting anniversary activities for next season include two appearances with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
In November TABC will be featured in “Song” from Concerto for Orchestra by Frederick Balazs and in March Leonard Bernstein’s
Chichester Psalms and “Make Our Garden Grow” from Candide. You can see TABC’s collaboration with TSO on the
symphony website at http://tucsonsymphony.org/2009-2010-season.html
